TL;DR

Data Engineer (Python/SQL): Developing and maintaining enterprise data pipelines and integration solutions for a major public sector programme with an accent on ETL/ELT processes and cloud-based data platforms. Location: Hybrid: Reading, UK (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Salary: £300 - £1000 daily (Inside IR35)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and support enterprise data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources.
• Support cloud-based data platforms and contribute to the improvement of enterprise data capabilities.
• Assist with data modelling, schema design, and the creation of datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve data quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and Software Engineers to define data requirements.

Requirements

• Current or previously held SC Clearance is required.
• Up to 2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Analytics.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and relational database principles.
• Experience working with Git or other version control systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and reporting concepts.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
