QA Automation Engineer (Ecommerce)

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal (minimum 2 days per week in office)

What you will do

• Build scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Embed quality into CI/CD by integrating automated tests into pipelines and establishing release quality gates.
• Test REST and GraphQL APIs to validate data integrity, business logic, and system behavior.
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritize critical user journeys and areas with the greatest business impact.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Business to communicate quality in terms of risk and trade-offs.
• Mentor and influence others by sharing best practices and acting as a technical leader.

Requirements

• 7–12 years of relevant experience in QA automation or software development in test (SDET).
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or a comparable language.
• Expertise in building and improving maintainable, modular automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience integrating tests with Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong API testing experience across REST or GraphQL.
• Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Knowledge of security or observability practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools like Codex or Copilot.
