What you will do

• Define and evolve the creative vision for branded content across New York Magazine and Vox, focusing on The Cut and Explainer Studio.
• Lead and mentor a layered organization of video creative directors and writers.
• Provide executive oversight for writing and visual output, ensuring brand alignment and high creative standards.
• Direct high-stakes projects and collaborate with production to balance creative excellence with budget and schedule constraints.
• Cultivate and grow a network of external creative collaborators, including directors, DPs, and animators.

Requirements

• 10+ years of creative experience, including significant time at the Creative Director level managing senior leaders.
• Must be based in New York, NY.
• Commanding background in video production from concept through post-production.
• Deep expertise in fashion, luxury, and beauty categories.
• Proven ability to lead both writers and visual/video creatives.
