Principal Platform Engineer (AI & Automation)

Principal Platform Engineer (AI & Automation): Building and optimizing foundational platform systems for global ticket sales with an accent on AI-driven automation, SRE practices, and reducing technical debt. Focus on designing agentic AI workflows, scaling infrastructure, and leading the adoption of modern AI developer tools to ensure system resiliency under peak demand.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid role with monthly on-site requirements)

What you will do

• Write maintainable code to accelerate platform automation and reduce technical debt.
• Build internal tools to ensure system scalability and resiliency during high-demand onsales.
• Design and champion agentic AI workflows for autonomous task execution and tool chaining.
• Drive the adoption of AI developer tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor across the team.
• Define and evangelize internal standards for SRE practices, automation, and code quality.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical deep-dives to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably in systems or backend engineering.
• Proven experience with AI developer tools, LLM-backed scripting, and agentic AI systems.
• Strong command of scripting languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with automated VM deployments and configuration management.
• Must be able to attend monthly in-person team trainings and quarterly travel.

Nice to have

• Background in high-scale production systems (AWS, observability).
• Experience building or operating Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
• Prior involvement in incident management, disaster recovery, or reliability strategy.
