What you will do

• Solve complex problems in security, privacy, and systems at scale.
• Perform engineering, data analysis, and open source software development.
• Design and implement protocols and primitives.
• Work on research projects involving AI, Distributed Systems, Privacy, or Trusted Execution Environments.
• Conduct measurements and ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• Proven track record of peer-reviewed research, open-source contributions, or standards development.
• Ability to work in systems-level programming languages such as Rust, C, or Go.
• Experience communicating research ideas through papers, blogs, or standards documents.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and source control systems like Git.
• Must be based in or able to work in-office 3-4 days a week in London, UK.
• Ability to commit to a 12-week fall internship.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of computer networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, QUIC).
• Experience in machine learning analysis for systems or network optimization.
• Understanding of authentication protocols, applied cryptography, PKI, and SSL/TLS.
• Proficiency in a scripting language, such as Python.
