Graduate UI Developer (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Graduate UI Developer (Gamedev): Creating compelling and responsive user interfaces across multiple platforms with an accent on UI component development and problem solving. Focus on optimizing codebase, collaborating with designers to build prototypes, and translating UI designs into performant solutions.

Location: Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in studio) or Onsite in Cambridge, UK. Not eligible for visa sponsorship. Relocation support provided.

What you will do

• Develop quality UI code across various projects and platforms.
• Improve codebase and internal tools used to create UI features.
• Collaborate with UI Designers and Gameplay programmers to build prototypes and fully featured UI screens.
• Translate UI designs creatively into workable and optimized technical solutions.
• Create performant, readable, and optimized code for real-time applications.

Requirements

• Familiarity with at least one high-level language such as C#, LUA, JS, TypeScript, AS3, or Java.
• Experience with debugging tools to diagnose and fix bugs.
• Awareness of performance constraints in real-time applications and experience in code profiling/optimization.
• Ability to integrate assets from Designers and Artists into existing or new UIs.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Must have the right to work in the UK; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of motion design.
• Familiarity with TypeScript.
