Cyber Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: McLean, Virginia, USA; remote work available, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility possible.

Salary: $86,800.00–$198,000.00 annualized USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operationalize AI/ML solutions for cyber defense, automation, and decision support.
• Work with AI Engineers, Software Engineers, and Cyber Operators to develop and deploy production-grade AI systems.
• Apply cybersecurity expertise to identify opportunities for machine learning and support cyber investigations.
• Explore security datasets, train inference models, and use model outputs to advance investigations.
• Work independently on complex technical problems and mentor junior team members as needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with cyber threat hunting and compromise analysis using security logs, including endpoint and network data.
• At least 2 years of experience exploring datasets, training machine learning models for inference, and applying outputs to cyber investigations.
• Experience with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, MISP threat sharing, or cyber intelligence platforms including seQure.
• Experience packaging and deploying production-level models using Python, Bash, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL, or data streaming technologies, including Kafka.
• Experience with SIEM technologies such as Splunk or Elasticsearch.
• Experience developing novel solutions for challenging problems and working in a fast-paced team that rapidly prototypes and iterates.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance; selected applicants are subject to a security investigation and classified-information eligibility requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice to have

• Experience with large language models, natural language processing, and data science workflows.
• Experience with data brokers such as Kafka, Confluent, Benthos, RedPanda, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, GovCloud, or distributed systems.
• Existing TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
