What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites using Python and Pytest for embedded systems.
• Execute automated system, integration, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests to validate device functionality and communication interfaces.
• Investigate test failures, analyze logs, and perform root-cause analysis for hardware-software interaction issues.
• Improve test automation infrastructure, CI/CD integration, and overall test coverage.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and quality engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Work directly with physical medical devices in laboratories and communicate with a US-based customer.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software test automation with strong expertise in Python and Pytest.
• Proven experience with HIL testing and automated tests for medical devices or embedded software.
• Experience validating communication protocols such as USB, RS-232, TCP/IP, and REST APIs.
• Understanding of regulated environment standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or FDA guidelines).
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps), SQL, Linux, and Windows.
• Must be based in or be able to periodically visit labs in Wroclaw (Poland) or Lviv (Ukraine).

Nice to have

• Experience with desktop application test automation, specifically using Qt/Squish.
