Performance & Reward Expert (Compensation & Benefits): Leading global compensation and benefits projects in a waste infrastructure company with an accent on EU pay transparency, gender pay gap analysis, and Mercer-based job architecture. Focus on designing reward frameworks, modelling salary and bonus cycles, benchmarking markets, and advising People & Culture stakeholders across multiple countries.

Location: Milan, Italy

Salary: €62,000 gross per year minimum

What you will do

  • Lead global Compensation & Benefits projects, including EU Pay Transparency Directive implementation and job evaluation framework reviews.
  • Deliver gender pay gap analysis, reporting, and remediation planning aligned with regulatory requirements and annual salary cycles.
  • Govern and harmonise Mercer-based global job architecture across acquisitions and business lines.
  • Support annual compensation cycles, bonus processes, market benchmarking, modelling, tools, and communications.
  • Advise People & Culture stakeholders on reward topics and improve policies, analytics, and frameworks.

Requirements

  • University degree in HR, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, ideally in a global environment.
  • Experience delivering large-scale reward projects, including pay equity, job architecture, benefits, or incentive design.
  • Strong knowledge of the EU Pay Transparency Directive and multi-country compensation practices.
  • Experience with job evaluation frameworks and advanced analytical skills, including Excel modelling and data reconciliation.
  • Very good English and strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Mercer IPE.
  • Additional European language, such as German.
