What you will do

• Design and productionize scalable data systems for AI evaluation, observability, and feedback loops for agentic AI products.
• Build data models, schemas, and processing pipelines to support reliable logging, retrieval, and dataset management.
• Develop LLM-as-a-judge solutions and data pipelines to solve complex metric-related challenges.
• Collaborate with ML infrastructure teams to evolve evaluation frameworks for conversational AI.
• Lead all software development phases, including architecture design, implementation, and testing.
• Partner with PMs, data scientists, and operations to prioritize requirements for ML systems and quantify business impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience as a software, backend, or platform engineer building production systems.
• Must be based in a US state where Airbnb has a registered entity.
• Strong programming skills in Python for building production-quality software and data systems.
• Experience designing and operating scalable data pipelines using Airflow or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Strong system design skills, including API design, testing strategies, and operational ownership.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as model evaluation, online monitoring, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies: Spark, Flink, Kafka, Trino/Presto, Hive, or Iceberg.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
