What you will do
- Develop and refine strategies for acquiring research data from scientific laboratory instruments.
- Engineer custom file parsers to handle diverse instrument output formats such as .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and proprietary binaries.
- Architect and implement scalable data pipelines, robust data models, and modular utility libraries.
- Perform comparative analysis of datasets to design shared, extensible data model components.
- Create visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards leveraging Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building solutions as a Data Engineer or in similar fields.
- 3+ years of professional experience working with Python and SQL focused on data.
- Experience with data plotting and dashboarding tools like Streamlit, Tableau, or Jupyter Notebook.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to take control of project delivery.
- Must be located in Costa Rica.
Nice to have
- Passion for applying AI and LLMs to solve complex data problems.
- Degree in biology or chemistry, or 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Exposure to DevOps practices within cloud environments.
- Basic experience with React.
