Manufacturing Engineer (CNC/Lean Manufacturing)

Location: Peoria, Illinois, USA; onsite position

Salary: $67,600–$84,500 per year

What you will do

• Complete manufacturing engineering projects focused on safe work practices, process improvements, and cost reduction.
• Develop production routings, procedures, tooling specifications, automated equipment programs, layouts, and packaging requirements.
• Program CNC equipment and support fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, warehouse, and shipping processes.
• Manage material flow, MRP operations, engineering change notices, inventory processes, manpower requirements, and process costing.
• Balance production, subassembly, main-line, and warehouse operations while reviewing standard times and conducting time studies.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing tools, including 5S, standard work, Gemba, Kaizen, PDCA, Poka-Yoke, visual factory, and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, AutoCAD, and standard computer applications.
• Experience with standards and methods improvement, layout design, assembly tooling and fixtures, line balancing, equipment justification, and assembly worksheets.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, process development, and quality-focused manufacturing.
• Strong communication, project coordination, attention to detail, problem-solving, and compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
