Salary: $189,000 - $303,000 per year

What you will do
- Architect the technical roadmap for onboard algorithms that update map content dynamically in response to environmental changes like construction zones.
- Define architecture for real-time, low-latency compute solutions under strict embedded performance and safety constraints.
- Partner with Motion Planning, Localization, and Perception teams to ensure seamless end-to-end map integration.
- Lead the safety case formulation for modern machine learning and classical fusion methods to ensure deterministic performance.
- Oversee the development of graph-centric and geometric algorithms for accurate local geometry of lane lines and surfaces.
- Provide technical mentorship, conduct design and code reviews, and foster engineering excellence.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience with production-grade C++ in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python for rapid prototyping and testing of spatial algorithms.
- Deep understanding of 3D geometric reasoning, coordinate transforms, and spatial data at scale.
- Mastery of graph theory, network optimization, and complex search algorithms.
- Proven track record of leading complex technical projects from concept to production and mentoring other engineers.
- Must be located in or able to work from Mountain View, CA (Hybrid)
Nice to have
- Expertise in Deep Learning architectures for spatial, temporal, or sensor data.
- Knowledge of Bayesian Inference, Kalman filtering, or state-estimation techniques.
- Experience with Spline Manipulation and geometric curves for trajectory modeling.
- Prior experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or safety-critical robotics.
