Global Head of Security Detection and Response (Cybersecurity)

Location: Madrid, Spain, with a hybrid schedule combining home and ING MAD office days.

What you will do

• Translate the global cybersecurity strategy into the Security Detection and Response strategy, roadmap, and execution plan.
• Lead the evolution of security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, crisis management, threat intelligence, and SOC capabilities.
• Act as Chief Product Owner for global SDR services, driving adoption, standardization, and measurable value realization.
• Lead a global organization of Product Owners, Process Managers, and Service Managers through coaching, talent development, and accountability.
• Manage strategic partners, third-party providers, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and service performance.
• Own the SDR portfolio, budget, investment priorities, objectives, and risk-reduction outcomes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, information security, fraud management, or related disciplines.
• Recognized cybersecurity expertise with CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification.
• Experience establishing, transforming, and operating security services, including monitoring, detection engineering, incident response, threat intelligence, and security operations.
• Strong understanding of security data analytics, AI/ML-driven security use cases, cybersecurity regulations, risk frameworks, portfolio management, and budgeting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with experience engaging executives, board-level stakeholders, regulators, and external partners.

Nice to have

• CISA or domain-specific security certifications.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry such as financial services, critical infrastructure, telecommunications, or healthcare.
