Internship: Pilot Plant Innovation

Location: Fully on-site at the Pilot Plant in Leiden, with regular workdays at the European Headquarters in Oegstgeest, Netherlands

Salary: €550 per month

What you will do

• Execute pilot-scale equipment trials to identify technical constraints and optimize multilayer coating setups.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using statistical methodologies.
• Support new product development by aligning process capabilities with product functionality and performance requirements.
• Establish methods for evaluating layer thickness and homogeneity.
• Perform analytical testing using techniques such as confocal Raman spectroscopy or SEM.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Must be enrolled at a Dutch university for the entire internship duration.
• Fluent English is required; applications must be submitted in English.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
• Strong interest in process technology, fluid mechanics, and measurement techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with statistical software such as Minitab or SPSS.
• Experience with confocal Raman spectroscopy or SEM.
