Security Engineer (DFIR Lab)

What you will do

• Manage and maintain DFIR Lab hardware, software, infrastructure, documentation, and asset inventory.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain forensic and incident response tools, including EnCase, Magnet Axiom, FTK, Cellebrite, THOR, Velociraptor, KAPE, IDA Pro, and Security Onion.
• Configure and optimize forensic workstations, laptops, servers, storage systems, and virtualization environments.
• Implement access controls, logging, audit trails, monitoring, security, privacy, and data integrity controls for the lab.
• Develop scripts and automation tools, maintain SOPs, and improve forensic workflows and lab operations.
• Collaborate with customers and support hardware, software, and lab activities for cyber incident response engagements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a technical lab, data center, DFIR, or systems engineering environment.
• Experience deploying and using digital forensics and incident response tools, including forensic artifact collectors, EDR, NDR, intrusion detection, security monitoring, and log management solutions.
• Knowledge of evidence management, data acquisition, forensic equipment, write blockers, specialized cables, and forensic workstations.
• Strong experience with Linux, Windows, Unix, and Mac operating systems, plus networking devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience with NAS storage, VMware ESXi virtualization, server and workstation baselines, and cloud-based environments.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or engineering is desirable but not mandatory.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Nutanix or other virtualization platforms.
• Certification in incident response, digital forensics, cloud computing, Linux or Windows administration, penetration testing, or security engineering.
• Certifications such as CCE, CHFI, GCFE, INE Security, Microsoft, Azure, VMware, or Red Hat.
