Deputy Regional Information Security Officer (Crypto)

What you will do

• Serve as the named ICT security officer for assigned regulated entities, with board-level accountability for security risk, ICT governance, and operational resilience.
• Lead risk assessments, control testing, risk-register management, audit preparation, evidence collection, and remediation tracking across UAE operations.
• Maintain business impact assessments, critical-function mappings, business continuity plans, and continuity and recovery testing.
• Coordinate with Group Security, IT, compliance, and legal teams to align local requirements with global policies and control frameworks.
• Act as a primary contact for VARA and other regulators during examinations, inspections, licensing interactions, and supervisory discussions.
• Support incident reporting, post-incident reviews, regulatory submissions, and security governance for new market launches.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in information security governance, ICT risk management, or regulatory compliance within regulated financial services, fintech, or virtual asset environments.
• Experience serving as a named regulatory contact and participating in examinations, supervisory interactions, licensing processes, or equivalent activities.
• Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks; VARA or other virtual asset regulatory experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience building governance or compliance programs from the ground up, conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses, and planning operational resilience.
• Experience with ICT outsourcing, third-party risk management, board-level reporting, and regulatory-grade documentation.
• Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions and globally distributed cross-functional teams; CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer certifications are preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with EU frameworks such as DORA and MiCA.
• Experience with additional Asian or European regulatory frameworks.
