What you will do

• Design and build detection, monitoring, and case-management systems for AML/BSA, KYC/EDD, and sanctions-screening.
• Integrate trade-surveillance platforms (e.g., Eventus, Palantir) and develop audit-grade data pipelines.
• Model and reconcile financial data (FinOps, ledger reconciliation) to ensure record accuracy.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into engineering systems.
• Develop real-time risk decisioning and transaction-monitoring systems to detect and respond to financial crime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate Trust & Safety systems.

Requirements

• Backend engineering experience building compliance tooling (AML/KYC/Sanctions) at scale.
• Experience with trade-surveillance platforms and structuring data pipelines for long-term retention.
• Proficiency in modeling and reconciling financial data for audit purposes.
• Proven track record of partnering with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams.
• Background in risk/fraud or compliance-technology at a fintech or crypto exchange.
• Must be based in New York (On-site).
