Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) - Financial Services

Location: Washington, D.C., United States; travel to customers required 20% of the time.

Salary: $182,000–$250,208 USD per year, plus potential annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead customer technical projects, delivering production-grade data, AI, and application solutions.
• Design and implement reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion systems, and ML/AI integrations.
• Own architecture and design decisions, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and platform best practices.
• Guide enterprise customers through big data and AI application design, deployment, evaluation, and adoption.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineering, support, and customer teams to deliver engagements and resolve implementation issues.
• Develop reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across customer accounts.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering.
• Ability to code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least two cloud ecosystems among AWS, Azure, and GCP, with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Experience designing and deploying production data architectures and applications combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.
• Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, technical project delivery, enterprise clients, documentation, and whiteboarding; Databricks Certification required.
