What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain software controlling operating systems and hardware.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and maintain system integrity.
• Collaborate with IT professionals to design and implement cutting-edge technology.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) discussions for supported products.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to professional work teams.
• Advise on technology strategy and influence objectives across departments.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Sandton, South Africa.
• Extensive experience in Mainframe z/OS platform support.
• Expertise in z/OS operating system components and system programming.
• Proficiency with SMP/E and ISV product upgrades.
• Experience with patch management and license management for ISV products.
• Ability to diagnose platform system issues and conduct root cause analysis.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience as an SME for z/OS system programming problem determination.
• Knowledge of implementing and enforcing security policies on z/OS.
