What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide application and infrastructure monitoring for availability, performance, and operational reliability.
• Lead architecture, deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of monitoring platforms with infrastructure, engineering, and third-party vendors.
• Analyze incidents, identify trends and root causes, and implement proactive monitoring, alerting, logging, and self-healing using ITIL best practices.
• Develop automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, and Python to streamline provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
• Ensure platform security and compliance through updates, upgrades, security remediation, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, influencing architecture and technology decisions to deliver high-quality observability capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong expertise administering and optimizing MySQL, MariaDB, and/or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Proven experience designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and resilient database architectures.
• Hands-on experience with MariaDB MaxScale or similar database proxy/load balancing technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of database security, hardening, access controls, auditing, logging, backup, and disaster recovery (including enterprise backup solutions such as Cohesity).
• Experience automating database administration and supporting infrastructure using scripting and modern operational practices.
• Strong skills in database performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in mission-critical environments.
