What you will do

• Build and maintain reliable JVM-based services using Kotlin or modern Java (17+).
• Design and develop well-structured APIs and integrations to enable consistent delivery across teams.
• Deliver end-to-end features by connecting backend services with responsive React and TypeScript interfaces.
• Implement test-first and test-informed practices to ensure high software quality and reliability.
• Experiment with and validate AI-assisted engineering tools to improve software delivery and documentation.
• Collaborate on technical discovery, architecture discussions, and peer code reviews.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing server-side applications with Kotlin or modern Java (17+).
• Proven expertise in designing, building, and operating distributed services and APIs.
• Practical experience with modern frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in relational databases and writing effective automated tests.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and supporting software in production.
• Must be based in or able to work in London, including on-site client visits.

Nice to have

• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Quarkus, Micronaut, or Ktor.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture, messaging, or streaming technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
