DevRel Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, with mandatory in-office anchor days (Mon, Tue, Fri) if based within commuting distance of SF, NY, London, or Berlin.

Salary: $168,000–$252,000 (San Francisco base range).

What you will do

• Build agents and applications using AI Gateway and Sandbox to create canonical demos, templates, and open-source projects.
• Teach developers through technical writing, talks, videos, and live coding sessions.
• Collaborate directly with product and engineering teams to identify and fix product rough edges before launch.
• Own launch assets including example repositories, documentation contributions, and initial developer support.
• Analyze ecosystem trends to identify developer pain points and missing capabilities in agentic tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in engineering, DevRel, or DX roles.
• Proven experience building and shipping AI applications or agents, including tool calling and model routing.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Next.js, and the AI SDK ecosystem.
• Public body of work (talks, posts, open source, or videos) is mandatory for consideration.
• Ability to rapidly produce working demos and clear technical explanations from early-stage APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining or contributing to significant open-source projects.
• Knowledge of microVMs and isolation principles for agents.
• Experience shipping production applications on Vercel using the AI SDK.
