TL;DR

Software Engineer 3 (Backend): Developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems for processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and large data sets with an accent on performance requirements, complex database/data repository interfaces, and algorithm development. Focus on integrating software into new environments, debugging and testing components, and providing technical input across hardware/software trade-offs.

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite)

Salary: $122,000-$253,000

What you will do

• Develop, modify, and integrate software systems based on documented requirements, including real-time systems and business management information systems.
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software, resolve problem reports, and improve software performance and reliability.
• Design and implement complex database/data repository interfaces and develop simple data queries.
• Develop algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards, including work with strict timing/resource/interface constraints.
• Review and test software components, document results, and support quality control across team products.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship required (only U.S. citizens are eligible for the security clearance).
• 12 years of experience as a SWE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, plus a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4 additional years of SWE experience in lieu of the degree).
• Experience analyzing requirements, designing software, and integrating software into new or modified systems/operating environments.
• Experience developing and modifying software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
• Experience assisting with test procedures and writing/reviewing software and system documentation.
