TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Java/Python): Designing and developing robust software solutions for mission-critical systems and applications with an accent on innovative solutions to emerging challenges. Focus on analyzing requirements, implementing Java and Python code, testing, deploying, and maintaining systems using Agile methodology and industry best practices.

Location: Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD. Must be U.S. person per ITAR (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph required.

Salary: $125,000 - $255,000

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java and Python solutions for mission challenges using best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Research new technologies, identify problems, and resolve issues in mission-critical systems.
• Document experiments, prototypes, and technical guides like configuration and install instructions.
• Work with team members and stakeholders to solve problems collaboratively.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph.
• Minimum 14 years experience as Software Engineer in similar programs.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related (or 4 extra years experience).
• Strong skills in Java, Python, OOP concepts and patterns.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computational complexity.
• Full SDLC experience with Agile methodology.

Nice to have

• Software project management tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Confluence).
• Experience developing and deploying ML/AI models.
• Distributed computing (Apache Spark, Hadoop).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
