Location: Must be based in Malta, with a mandatory in-office presence four days per week.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain AML/CTF policies in accordance with PMLA, PMLR, and FIAU procedures.
• Submit STRs and CTRs to the FIAU and act as the primary contact point for AML regulators.
• Ensure compliance with European regulations including MiCA and PSD2.
• Lead regulatory audits, gap analyses, and compliance monitoring reviews.
• Advise senior management on AML risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with legal, risk, and operations teams to enhance compliance controls.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant AML experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a compliance role within financial services or crypto.
• Deep expertise in the Maltese AML/CFT Framework (PMLA, PMLR, FIAU).
• Strong understanding of MiCA and European financial regulations.
• Ability to work in the Malta office four days per week.
• Exceptional communication skills for engaging with regulators and leadership.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GoAML and Chainalysis or similar tracing software.
• Prior experience in a leading crypto asset service provider or payment institution.
