QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

What you will do

• Build scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Embed quality into CI/CD by integrating automated tests into pipelines and establishing release quality gates.
• Test REST and GraphQL APIs, validating data integrity and business logic in backend-heavy systems.
• Improve test effectiveness by increasing meaningful coverage and reducing flaky or slow test suites.
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritize critical user journeys and high-impact business areas.
• Mentor team members and act as an informal technical leader to strengthen quality engineering practices.

Requirements

• 7–12 years of experience in quality assurance, moving into hands-on automation or SDET roles.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or a comparable language.
• Expertise in building maintainable, modular automation frameworks from scratch.
• Hands-on experience integrating tests with Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong API testing experience across REST and GraphQL.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Amsterdam (minimum 2 days per week in office).

Nice to have

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Knowledge of security or observability practices.
• Experience utilizing AI-assisted tools like ChatGPT or Copilot to improve code efficiency.
