What you will do

• Define and lead the multi-year technical vision and architectural strategy for ML-based content moderation.
• Collaborate with executive leaders in Product, Data Science, and Policy to prioritize the ML roadmap.
• Oversee the adoption of innovative techniques such as transfer-learning, self-supervised learning, and distillation.
• Build end-to-end solutions, including constructing datasets from scratch and creating auto-labeling pipelines.
• Perform backend and integration work (approximately 30-40% of time) to ship models into the production stack.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale ML systems in production.
• Proven track record of setting long-term technical direction for an entire ML domain.
• Deep expertise in Computer Vision (CV) and/or Vision-Language Models (VLMs).
• Experience architecting real-time ML inference services and robust data pipelines.
• Ability to resolve high-stakes cross-functional conflicts and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
• Must be based in or able to work from San Mateo, CA.
