Principal Data Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Principal Data Engineer (AI): Building and maintaining scalable Snowflake-based data platforms and predictive analytics applications with an accent on automation, AI, and ML model integration. Focus on designing complex data pipelines, ensuring data governance, and solving critical enterprise risks within the Legal, Security, and Public Policy team.

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Peoria, Illinois, USA. This position requires working onsite five days a week.

Salary: $128,470 – $208,770

What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable Snowflake-based data platforms for analytics and AI/ML workloads.
• Automate manual processes and optimize data delivery pipelines for greater scalability.
• Operationalize developed jobs, processes, and models while ensuring system reliability.
• Implement data governance, quality, and security standards across the data ecosystem.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to develop integration solutions.
• Mentor team members on coding standards and design best practices.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US (Visa sponsorship is not available).
• Must be able to work onsite in Peoria, IL, five days a week.
• BS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern development frameworks.
• Experience managing Snowflake environments and building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and version control (GitHub).

Nice to have

• MS in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with agentic AI platforms (Cortex, Bedrock, Dataiku).
• Deep expertise in AWS services (EMR, Glue, Lambda).
• Experience with trade and compliance data.
• Visualization skills using PowerBI or Streamlit.
