TL;DR

Engineering Technician (Medical Devices): Providing technical support to engineering and manufacturing teams for electromechanical medical device assembly with an accent on troubleshooting, process validation, and documentation. Location: Must be based in Rochester, NY, US

Compensation: $23.00–$28.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform hands-on evaluation, repair, and modification of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Execute engineering test plans to support product verification and process validation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and perform root cause investigations to restore production capability.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train production staff.
  • Support new product introductions and manufacturing transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, MDSAP, and FDA quality system regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with 4+ years of experience OR Associate's degree in a STEM discipline with 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Understanding of complex hardware and electromechanical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Must be able to work onsite in Rochester, NY.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.
