Head of Software QA (AI)

Location: Vienna, Austria (hybrid); hybrid model includes 2 home-office days per week.

Salary: Minimum gross annual salary of €75,000, with the final package based on experience and expertise.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the QA function, strategy, standards, quality gates, escalation paths, and coverage expectations.
• Lead, hire, develop, mentor, and provide feedback to QA engineers across experience levels.
• Partner with the CTO, Head of Product, Head of Software Development, engineering teams, and external technology partners.
• Define test approaches and coordinate release readiness, integration coverage, cross-region validation, and go/no-go decisions.
• Set the QA automation strategy and improve tooling, CI pipelines, test environments, and test data.
• Identify recurring quality issues, automation gaps, integration blind spots, and root-cause improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of QA Engineering experience, including meaningful QA team leadership experience.
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and continuous-improvement skills.
• Practical understanding of testing complex, multi-platform SaaS products, including automation architecture, CI/CD integration, API testing, mobile testing, and end-to-end strategy.
• Technical familiarity with AI/ML-based features, speech technology, or hardware-software integrations.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering and Product leadership and working in Agile environments at scale.
• Fluent English is mandatory. German and other language skills are advantageous.
