What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-performance JVM services and APIs focusing on low-latency and efficient memory management.
• Translate complex risk models and business requirements into robust, well-tested implementations.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts and product teams to build reliable financial risk solutions.
• Optimize and refactor the codebase to improve automated testing, performance, and maintainability.
• Champion agile best practices and participate in active code reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Java backend engineer.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, specifically in multi-threading, concurrency, and JVM performance tuning.
• Strong experience with automated testing, TDD, and simulation/stress testing.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Foundational understanding of financial products and risk management concepts (e.g., SPAN, VaR).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-sourced architectures or columnar databases.
• Knowledge of Kotlin or low-latency libraries like Chronicle Queue.
• Interest in mentoring junior engineers.
