What you will do

• Define and own the long-term technical architecture and strategy for core trading platform components.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex, cross-cutting technical projects spanning multiple engineering teams.
• Identify and eliminate critical performance bottlenecks using advanced low-latency and high-throughput Java solutions.
• Act as a technical authority and SME in core trading systems, providing guidance and mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers.
• Research emerging technologies such as new concurrency models and hardware acceleration to enhance platform competitiveness.
• Design fault-tolerant systems and drive best practices in monitoring, alerting, and incident response for mission-critical infrastructure.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience designing and operating high-performance, ultra-low latency distributed systems in Java.
• Expert-level proficiency in modern C++, including memory management, lock-free concurrency, and template metaprogramming.
• Profound knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection tuning, and advanced concurrency patterns.
• Proven experience as a technical leader or architect for major system components and message-oriented middleware.
• Deep understanding of network protocols, Linux OS-level optimizations, and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
• Must have the current right to work in Singapore for Singapore-based roles (no sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Direct experience with matching engines, market data processing, or algorithmic trading in HFT environments.
• In-depth knowledge of FIX Protocol and other financial industry messaging standards.
• Experience with hardware-level optimizations, FPGA/ASIC acceleration, or specialized networking.
