Lead VFX Artist (Mobile Games)

Location: Remote studio within North American time zones

What you will do

• Create stylized visual effects, combat feedback, and character visuals for a mobile fighting game.
• Develop hands-on VFX in Unity and establish scalable, reusable VFX systems.
• Build efficient, optimized assets for smooth performance across mobile devices.
• Guide and review intermediate and senior VFX artists while maintaining a high standard for visual feedback and combat clarity.
• Collaborate with the Creative Director, development, art, and design teams to refine the visual style through iterative feedback.

Requirements

• 8+ years of VFX experience in the mobile games industry.
• Strong understanding of technical limitations and performance requirements on mobile platforms.
• Expertise with industry-standard VFX tools such as Unity and Blender.
• Experience optimizing assets for performance across a range of mobile devices.
• Understanding of genre-specific conventions for fighting games.
• Portfolio demonstrating previous work experience.
