Software Engineer (Data Engineering)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Python/AWS/Snowflake): Developing Python data pipelines to build business data objects with an accent on CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architecture. Focus on implementing source-to-target mapping and solving complex technical problems within a distributed data environment.

Location: Must be based in Chicago, IL, Irving, TX or Peoria, IL. This position requires working onsite five days a week.

Salary: $97,530 - $158,480

What you will do

• Develop Python data pipelines to build business data objects used to support applications.
• Identify and resolve complex application and technical problems.
• Build and deploy CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement source-to-target mapping as pipeline code.
• Perform unit and integration testing to maintain high software quality.
• Establish and encourage good software development practices within the team.

Requirements

• Must be based in Chicago, IL, Irving, TX or Peoria, IL.
• Experience in designing and developing software applications in Python.
• Solid knowledge of OOP principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience working with Git version control on medium to large teams.
• Proficiency in deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with AWS components (Lambda, Kinesis, Event Bridge, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Dynamo, Fargate, S3, Sage Maker, IAM, RDS) and Snowflake.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with GenAI developer tools.
• Experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
