What you will do

• Design and implement core application features for the health data platform.
• Lead technical tasking, high-level design, and project estimation for innovation initiatives.
• Analyze and resolve complex system challenges, identifying risks and implementing robust solutions.
• Drive technical leadership for customer-facing implementations and distributed processing tasks.
• Mentor and coach associate-level developers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Establish and maintain high coding standards and best practices across the department.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• 10+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years in senior or staff-level roles.
• Expertise in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with microservices, distributed systems, and API design (RESTful/FHIR).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building data pipelines and streaming systems like Kafka.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, SNOMED, or LOINC.
• Exposure to Digital Quality Measures (dQM) and Clinical Quality Language (CQL).
• Experience within the healthcare technology sector.
