Lead Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid role in Toronto, ON, New York, NY, or Ottawa, ON; remote-first flexibility is available, with Ottawa, Toronto, or Calgary preferred.

What you will do

• Own growth experimentation with Product and Commercial teams, from hypothesis framing and test sizing through causal evaluation and decision-making.
• Build and maintain core dashboards, self-service tooling, and an AI-augmented reporting stack for executive performance visibility.
• Analyze revenue and margin drivers, including volume, mix, pricing, cohort behavior, and product usage.
• Partner with Data Engineering to maintain reliable data models and pipelines for the segment.
• Support Strategic Finance with driver-based revenue forecasting analytics.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data science, growth analytics, or quantitative business roles.
• Deep experience designing and shipping experiments, including power analysis, causal inference, and guardrail metrics.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with the ability to work independently in large and imperfect datasets.
• Ability to scope ambiguous questions, prioritize an independent roadmap, and communicate findings to executives in clear business language.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between growth, product usage, operational drivers, revenue, and contribution margin.
• Experience in a marketplace, eCommerce, SaaS, or scaled healthcare business.

Nice to have

• Experience partnering with FP&A or Strategic Finance teams.
• Experience building metric trees or driver-based performance frameworks.
• Hands-on use of AI tools, including LLMs and agents, in analytics workflows.
• Exposure to Sigma, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Experience mentoring or managing analysts.
