What you will do

• Administer and operate IBMi environments, including management of LPARs, virtualization, HMC, and VIOS.
• Maintain infrastructure in operational condition (MCO/RUN) under strict high availability constraints.
• Manage production plans and batch jobs using Advanced Job Scheduler and Fortra Robot Schedule.
• Perform system upgrades, maintenance, monitoring, and incident resolution for mission-critical systems.
• Implement security hardening and ensure compliance with infrastructure standards.
• Participate in PRA/DR exercises and contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IBMi (AS/400) system administration.
• Hands-on experience with LPAR management, HMC, and VIOS.
• Proficiency in IBMi CL programming for code analysis, creation, and modification.
• Operational knowledge of production environments with 24/7 constraints.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Systems, or Infrastructure (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Experience with PowerHA or other availability mechanisms.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies on IBM i.
• Automation and scripting skills in CL, Shell, or Python.
• Exposure to IBMi modernization, QuickEDD, and MIMIX.
