Lead Level Designer (ARPG)

Fast-growing game studio focused on top-down action RPGs, including the breakout title Last Epoch.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of level designers.
• Drive the creative vision and execution of levels supporting gameplay, narrative, and artistic goals.
• Collaborate with environment art, narrative design, systems design, engineering, and production.
• Review level layouts, encounter balance, worldbuilding consistency, performance, quality, and accessibility.
• Contribute hands-on to level blockouts, encounter scripting, and gameplay prototyping.
• Establish scalable level design workflows, pipelines, and best practices while scoping and tracking deliverables.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional level design experience in the game industry.
• At least 2 years in a lead or senior design role.
• Experience shipping at least one title in a senior or leadership capacity.
• Understanding of encounter design, pacing, and player progression.
• Experience with level design tools in engines such as Unity or Unreal.
• Strong collaboration, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a remote-first environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ARPGs, live-service pipelines, and multi-team collaboration.
