What you will do

• Design and build accessible interactions in the Editor, including focus management, keyboard navigation, and ARIA roles/states.
• Use screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) as daily development tools to test, debug, and validate work.
• Collaborate with engineers across the Editing Group to provide technical guidance and ensure features are accessible from the start.
• Identify and resolve systemic accessibility gaps through architectural solutions rather than individual patches.

Requirements

• Commercial experience building accessible web applications with a practical understanding of WCAG.
• Hands-on experience developing with and debugging screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS).
• Ability to work effectively in a large, interconnected frontend codebase.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Must be based in Sydney, Australia.

Nice to have

• Experience with WAI-ARIA authoring patterns for complex widgets like trees, grids, and drag-and-drop.
• Experience with accessibility for HTML5 canvas, WYSIWYG, or real-time UI.
• Familiarity with browser and native accessibility APIs and the accessibility tree.
• Experience building accessibility features utilizing AI.
• Experience with mobile accessibility and React Native.
