What you will do
- Design and implement robust, flexible AI features, behaviors, and NPC systems.
- Optimize perception and decision-making systems to ensure high performance.
- Develop and debug complex navigation and pathfinding systems.
- Establish engineering best practices for UE5, including code review standards and profiling workflows.
- Collaborate with design and content teams to prototype and integrate AI-driven gameplay experiences.
- Integrate and maintain AI middleware across multiple platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional game development experience with a track record of technical leadership.
- Strong professional proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine (gameplay architecture and runtime systems).
- Deep experience building scalable, designer-friendly gameplay systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Blueprints and AI decision-making tools (Behavior Trees, Utility AI).
- Proven confidence in using navigation and pathfinding systems.
- Must be based in Canada.
Nice to have
- Experience with UE5-specific systems such as StateTree, Blackboards, and EQS.
- Familiarity with Perforce, Jenkins, and the Unreal Build System/Gauntlet.
