TL;DR
Linux System Administrator (Defense): Providing maintenance and operational support for software and systems on a classified network with an accent on Linux OS administration, patching, and high-availability virtualized environments. Location: Onsite at Stennis Space Center, MS (Work performed in CNMOC’s spaces on a classified network)

What you will do
- Perform Linux OS administration, including cron deployments, software installations, and file system maintenance.
- Troubleshoot system issues reported through formal ticketing systems.
- Maintain and upgrade operating systems, including the application of installations and patches.
- Install and patch custom-developed software modules.
- Manage and maintain a virtualized environment ensuring high availability.
- Coordinate with network administrators to optimize overall system performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant technical field.
- 2+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator focusing on patching and configuration.
- 3 years of general experience as a systems administrator or software developer.
- Active Secret Clearance is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice to have
- CompTIA Security+ or Linux+ certifications.
- Experience with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
- Proficiency with VMWare products (vSphere, ESXi) for system administration.
- Experience with mass storage systems (NetApp) and LDAP for user administration.
- Knowledge of DoW STIG application process and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Experience with ESRI Products (Enterprise, Portal).
