What you will do
- Design and build scalable APIs using gRPC and REST for core insurance services.
- Drive microservices from requirements gathering through architecture and deployment.
- Collaborate with Product and DevOps teams to translate features into robust technical solutions.
- Promote engineering best practices including code reviews and automated testing.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements in the financial sector.
- Monitor and optimize service reliability, performance, and production costs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend development experience, including 3+ years with Golang in production.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps workflows.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL and message queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- English: Excellent communication skills required.
- Must be based in Romania.
- Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and validate outputs.
Nice to have
- Experience in insurance, fintech, or financial services.
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and IaC (Terraform, Helm).
- German language skills.
