Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem for urban mobility-as-a-service.

What you will do

• Design and maintain secure hybrid/multi-cloud network architectures (AWS/GCP) with zero-trust access and network segmentation.
• Operate next-gen firewall platforms (Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet), managing policy architecture, SSL/TLS decryption, and threat prevention.
• Own the lifecycle of secure remote access solutions including VPN and ZTNA integrated with identity providers like Entra ID.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines to automate security baselines and configuration management.
• Conduct 24/7 network security monitoring, traffic analysis, and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance and threat detection.
• Collaborate with Product Security, SRE, and Software Engineering teams on cross-functional security initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of network security engineering experience securing enterprise, cloud, and OT/lab environments.
• Deep expertise in next-gen firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), AWS NFW, WAFs, IDS/IPS, NAC/802.1X, and ZTNA solutions.
• Strong knowledge of core protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, 802.1X, TLS/PKI) and cloud security principles.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipelines, and REST APIs for automation.
• Experience supporting major compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, CSF 2.0, or ISO 27001.
• Must be based in or able to work in Foster City, CA (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or automotive IT/OT environments.
• Certifications: PCNSE, AWS Security Specialty, or CCNA.
• Experience deploying AI/ML-based security capabilities, such as LLM-driven copilots for security workflows.
