What you will do

• Review and code profee transplant surgery cases, including kidney and liver procedures.
• Accurately code E/M visits, office procedures, and complex surgical scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer guidelines.
• Maintain a consistent 95% accuracy rate and meet daily production goals.
• Communicate with leadership regarding coding documentation issues and trends.
• Participate in departmental meetings and stay current on specialty-specific coding guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Minimum of 5 years of recent hands-on physician coding experience in transplant surgery.
• Active and in good standing AHIMA or AAPC professional credential (e.g., CCS-P, CPC).
• Proficiency in anatomy, medical terminology, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and CMS billing policies.
• Experience with teaching physician scenarios, split/shared services, and incident-to billing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and electronic healthcare record systems.

Nice to have

• Auditing and billing/denials experience.
