What you will do

• Design and implement robust, testable, high-performance systems and tools in Rust.
• Optimize existing software architectures to enhance speed and efficiency.
• Actively participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including debugging and optimization.
• Collaborate within a matrix-style engineering organization as part of the Backend Community.
• Provide and receive peer feedback through regular review cycles to elevate software quality.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 5+ years of experience developing backend systems in fast-paced, high-performance environments.
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases (Postgres), NoSQL (Elasticsearch), and microservices architecture.
• Solid proficiency in Rust.
• Experience integrating third-party devices and data providers.
• Experience incorporating AI tools, models, or services into development workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale with a focus on reliability.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools like Terraform.
• Background in building information security products or applying secure coding practices.
• Experience with Kotlin, Go, or Python in production environments.
