Mission Analyst (Defense)

TL;DR

Mission Analyst (Defense): Supporting the execution of policies, plans, and strategies for the Headquarters Air Force Mission Assurance (MA) Program with an accent on asset identification, risk assessment, and critical infrastructure management. Focus on conducting mission decomposition of Air Force assets, updating systems of record, and preparing technical analysis white papers.

Location: Onsite at the Pentagon, VA

What you will do

• Conduct asset identification and assessment within the MA construct and recommend nomination of assets based on mission criticality.
• Support MA assessments through the development of Integrated Assessment Schedules, Focus Statements, and briefings.
• Maintain the Air Force MA system of record and coordinate with MAJCOMs and NAFs.
• Support the identification, prioritization, and validation of Task Critical Assets (TCAs) for OPLANs and CONPLANs.
• Perform mission decomposition of Air Force assets as part of the annual asset validation process.
• Develop technical briefings, oral reports, and white papers in support of the MA program.

Requirements

• Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of experience with DoW, specifically dealing with critical infrastructure, readiness, or operations.
• Valid US passport and ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS approximately 25% of the time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience working on large G, J, or A staffs, particularly within MAJCOMs or NAFs.
• Relevant experience in Force Protection, Civil Engineering, Emergency Management, Intelligence, Communications, or Cybersecurity.
• Experience with MARMS applications or Mission Assurance databases.
• Familiarity with Palantir Foundry, Maven, or Envision platforms.
