TL;DR

Business Analyst (Aviation): Serving as a critical bridge between technical teams and stakeholders to modernize aviation operating models with an accent on requirements gathering and data-driven operational efficiency. Focus on translating complex technical concepts into business language and driving data initiatives to reduce operational friction in flight scheduling and ground operations.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Dublin, Ireland, with 3 days per week on-site)

What you will do

• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather and validate requirements for data and AI initiatives.
• Document requirements with full traceability using process mapping, gap analysis, and user stories.
• Utilize SQL and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to validate data quality and define data models for actionable decisions.
• Lead prioritization exercises and maintain RAID logs to keep data initiatives aligned with business outcomes.
• Collaborate with customer teams to identify and resolve frictions in flight scheduling, baggage handling, and crew rostering.
• Translate technical constraints and project status between developers, data engineers, and business executives.

Requirements

• Proven experience running workshops and writing requirements documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Practical fluency with SQL and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong grasp of structured business analysis techniques, including process mapping and gap analysis.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project delivery methodologies and managing RAID logs.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement (3 days per week on-site in Dublin).

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of airline and airport operations (flight scheduling, turnaround times, gate allocation).
• Familiarity with aviation regulatory and compliance frameworks (EASA, IATA, SMS).
• Previous experience working directly within the aviation sector.
