What you will do

• Analyze proprietary biomedical datasets to identify patterns, variability, and performance opportunities.
• Develop statistical and machine learning methods for noisy, high-dimensional, and small-sample data.
• Improve preprocessing pipelines, signal quality, and acquisition protocols through collaboration with hardware teams.
• Apply chemometric and multivariate analysis to spectroscopic data such as Raman and FTIR.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with experimentalists and product teams to influence experimental design.
• Contribute to reusable analysis frameworks, internal documentation, and research publications.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in academia or industry working on quantitative data problems.
• Strong foundation in applied statistics, predictive modelling, and experimental design.
• Experience working with raw data alongside instrumentation to optimize signal quality.
• Location: Must be based in Porto, Portugal for full-time onsite work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in chemometric or multivariate analysis of spectroscopic data (Raman, FTIR).
• Interest in mentoring and learning from senior colleagues.
