What you will do
- Design and develop target detection, tracking, and state estimation pipelines to produce robust track kinematics.
- Architect world state representations fusing self-state, target tracks, terrain, threats, and mission context.
- Build ROS2 nodes and libraries to expose perception capabilities through versioned interfaces.
- Optimize C++ code for deterministic performance and real-time constraints on resource-limited embedded compute platforms.
- Mentor junior perception engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical direction.
- Define perception-to-autonomy interfaces and manage coordinate frames and data association across sensor streams.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to verify identity via E-Verify.
- 6-9+ years of experience in robotics perception, state estimation, or sensor fusion.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ for real-time embedded systems with emphasis on determinism and memory discipline.
- Hands-on experience with ROS2 and DDS-based middleware in production systems.
- Demonstrable experience tuning nonlinear state estimators (EKF, UKF, or particle filters).
- Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, coordinate frames, and estimation theory.
Nice to have
- Experience with seeker systems or guidance-adjacent perception in a defense context.
- Hands-on work with WOSA, MOSA, or other open architecture standards.
- NVIDIA Jetson deployment experience including CUDA and TensorRT optimization.
- Experience with SLAM/VIO frameworks such as OpenVINS, VINS-Fusion, ORB-SLAM, GTSAM, or Ceres.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance.
